More details have been revealed on Team Ninja's DOA5LR website, such as the release date and console information. The game will be released on February 17th in North America, February 19th in Japan, and February 20th in the European countries.
The editions for the game will be different based on the console:
- PlayStation 4 will have "Core Fighters," and retail versions.
- Xbox One will have "Core Fighters," retail, and trial versions.
- PlayStation 3 will have the "Core Fighters" version.
If you own a current-gen console, you will be able to upgrade your game to DOA5LR two different ways:
- The first patch will be free, and will allow you to play online with those who have the retail and digital versions.
- The second patch, however, is not free but will include new exclusive characters and costumes.
The bad news for current-gen owners is that you will not have the new stages, hairstyles, or the new costume customization feature (originally from Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate Arcade). Those will only be available to the next-gen consoles. Click the two links below for more information.

If you're thinking about buying Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, I would personally suggest that you save up a lot of cash and purchase the next-gen console versions to get the full experience.
